The head of Science department is Mr Raymond Kalemba and his deputy is Mrs Esther Shawa.
The department has seven subjects.Some are compursory while others are optional.
Computer programmes directly affect every aspect of our lives; we rely on computer scientists for this. Computer scientists theorise, design, develop and apply the software and hardware for technology most of us use every single day. As the digital world is rapidly evolving, the need for computer scientists continues to grow.As ZCSS,we have two computer labolatories just to ensure that students are doing hands on projects and that they have a very good backgroung of computer studies
The applications of Chemistry are wide, and that means greater productivity and opportunities to make money. Because everything in our world is made of matter, anything that involves a change in matter or the understanding of its properties needs the attention of a Chemist.It is for this reason that ZCSS sees to it that students are taught adequetly and make fulll use of the chemistry lab
Biology helps us understand the living world and the ways its many species (including humans) function, evolve, and interact.Zomba Catholic Secondary School has a well equipped bilogy lab to ensure that students are given a platform for doinng practicals
Without agriculture, there will be no food and no future. The world depends on farmers cultivating plants and animals for food production and industrial raw materials.It is for this reason that the school thought it wise to include it asa subject.Apart from learning in class,students also do have practicals.
As an institution,we understand that the goal of physics is to understand how things work from first principles. AS such,We offer physics as a subject which matches to a range of goals that students may have in studying physics.
Maths promote healthy brain function.At Zomba Catholic Secondary School,students are highly motivated to participate in mathematics.They do also have time to do conduct group discussions after classes.
